Armchair BEA – Introduction
Welcome to Day 1 of Armchair BEA
For those of us who are unable to attend Book Expo America in New York this week, there is Armchair BEA, an online networking event for bloggers worldwide.
It’s ironic that when I was working full-time I was unable to get time off to attend BEA. Now that I’m not working, I don’t have the extra funds. But BEA is coming to Chicago in 2016, less than an hour drive for me, and I am looking forward to finally attending and meeting many of you.
An Introduction
Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?

In 2009 I deleted all the old posts and started over as a book blog where I soon discovered an entire community of book lovers. After a while I began writing about some of my other interests – cooking, gardening, nature, photography and my now weekend feature, Weekend Birding.
Describe your blog in just one sentence. Then, list your social details — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. — so we can connect more online.

What genre do you read the most?
What is your favorite blogging resource?
Thanks for Stopping By
Today is Memorial Day in the US and I will be hosting a BBQ in my backyard. I will be visiting blogs later this evening. Please feel free to leave me comment and I will stop by later.

I also love my Google calendar…and I realize I haven’t used it in a while. Probably because I stopped blog tour reading for a spell….and have tried to simplify my life.
My first blog and its first year were mostly me talking to myself, too…LOL; It took a year to discover the community….and then I went nuts adding a lot of blogs.
Here’s MY ARMCHAIR BEA POST

With millions of blogs out there unless you find the right community no one will hear you. Plus my first blog really had no direction – I don’t think I would have read it either! My gardening blog did well, but I’ve let that one slip the past year or so.

Birds everywhere in my yard too. Of course it helps that I have several feeders and 4 bird baths to entice them!

Hi and Happy Armchair BEA to you. I’m an eclectic reader too. Here’s hoping more people get to go to BEA when it’s in Chicago, I might actually be able to make the drive if I start saving money now. 🙂

I’m already counting down to 2016! I’m less than an hour away from the city so no excuses for me not to attend.

Hiya, Leslie! Good to see some familiar faces this year. I’m meeting a lot of new folks, too, of course, but you know – it’s fun to revisit “old friends.” I’ll be at BEA next year, too, since I’m from the Chicago area. CANNOT WAIT! I couldn’t think of any blogging resources, but -duh- a calendar is a good one. I think I answered this week’s prompt wrong by addressing ALL of the questions. Looks like I was supposed to pick 5? Ah well. haha …have fun this week!

I’d be lost without my calendar. It even sends me email reminders! I think having BEA in a more central location is going to bring in lots more bloggers.

I can’t remember how I was able function before Google came along to organize my life. And I’m only half joking about that!

I don’t have time for my own calendar. Gage’s calendar keeps me busy. 34 hours a week of therapies and school! He has a much better social life than I do 🙂
