Wordless Wednesday: Tiger Swallowtail
Almost Wordless: This Eastern Tiger Swallowtail spent about an hour on my Spotted Joe-Pye Weed. Since I put in a patch of native prairie plants last year I have seen a lot of butterflies, bees and even hummingbirds.

The new plants have made a big difference in the number of butterflies and bees in the yard. I’m going to put some in the front yard for next year.

This butterfly must have loved the nectar in those flowers. He would pause for several seconds at time.

I think the tiger swallowtails are extremely vain. They’re the only butterflies that have ever posed for me. Great shot, Leslie!
