Mailbox Monday ~ May 7th
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.
After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.
This was a great weekend for birding. Migration is in full swing and beautiful songbirds are making their way north for the breeding season. I saw lots of birds and took a lot of photos. I also got some reading and a bit of gardening done. But I didn’t get in any writing or blogging!
I also had to deal with a few pet bird emergencies and make several trips to the vet. One was for my own bird who decided to lay an egg and couldn’t get it out. The other was a shelter bird that had an injured foot. So … I had an interesting week.
A few new books arrived last week. . .
New Arrivals
Two Steps Forward by Graeme Simsion from William Morrow.
A story of taking chances and learning to love again as two people, one mourning her husband and the other recovering from divorce, cross paths on the centuries-old Camino pilgrimage from France to Spain.
The Word Is Murder by Anthony Horowitz.
A wealthy woman strangled six hours after she’s arranged her own funeral.
A very private detective uncovering secrets but hiding his own.
A reluctant author drawn into a story he can’t control. What do they have in common?
Something In The Water by Catherine Steadman.
A shocking discovery on a honeymoon in paradise changes the lives of a picture-perfect couple in this taut psychological thriller debut.

I hope your bird and rescue bird are all right. I like the sound of Two Steps Forward. I think I saw the other titles on a couple of blogs last week. I hope you enjoy them all. Happy bird watching and reading!
