Mailbox Monday ~ September 25th

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.

The season is changing, the days are getting shorter, the leaves are falling, the wildflowers have gone to seed …. and it was 95 degrees for the past three days! This would be fine if I lived in the south, but I’m in the Midwest. I suppose I should enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, we could have snow in a few weeks!

A few new books arrived last week . . .

New Arrivals

Future Home of the Living God by Louise Erdrich from Harper.
A chilling dystopian novel both provocative and prescient, Future Home of the Living God is a startlingly original work from one of our most acclaimed writers: a moving meditation on female agency, self-determination, biology, and natural rights that speaks to the troubling changes of our time.

Year One (Chronicles of The One #1) by Nora Roberts St. Martin’s Press.
In a world of survivors where every stranger encountered could be either a savage or a savior, none of them knows exactly where they are heading, or why. But a purpose awaits them that will shape their lives and the lives of all those who remain.

Happy Mail by Walter Foster Jr Creative Team from AmazonVine.

I want to find Happy Mail – love books like that. Have a great week. We’re supposed to cool off sometime on Wednesday. I’m trying to enjoy these days I don’t have to put layers on to go outdoors.

I read one Erdrich, and it didn’t grab me. I have never read Roberts.

Ah, I remember snail mail…how delightful to get a letter from a friend who lives far away. Happy Mail sounds like a good description for that feeling we get. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, and here are

ENJOY your books and the weather. We are having extremely warm temperatures too, but I am loving it. I am outside.

You are correct…it will be cold soon, and I will hate it. 😦

    Have a great week.

Some interesting selections here. I’m finishing A Tale for the Time Being and beginning Byron Katie’s new book.

It’s been super hot and then cold in the mornings. Pretty normal weather here. Happy Mail looks like a good one.
