Yellow Coneflower on a Frosty Morning

YellowConeflower-Frost_IMG_3793

Almost wordless: Early yesterday morning the garden had a light coating of frost. It was disappearing as fast as I could shoot. (Click photo for a summertime view of the flower).

A rare blue-sky day in winter Chicagoland. We don’t see that too often, which is why I rushed out to get the shot before the clouds moved in – and within a few hours, they did!

I love to photograph seed heads in the winter. Nicely done.

To take the photo I sit on the ground and shoot up using a zoom lens to get the sky as a background. For the ‘summertime view’ I linked one of my photos from a previous blog post to the winter image.

So pretty – and I love that blue sky. It was also neat to click and see the same flower from summer. I liked that.
