Independence Day

Happy 4th of July!

For my US visitors celebrating the holiday, have a safe and fun-filled day. I will be barbecuing, relaxing and enjoying the afternoon with family.

Mr. Robin was keeping an eye on several young fledglings in the front yard. He conveniently posed in front of the flag. “Eagles aren’t the only patriotic bird,” the robin was heard muttering as he flew away.

You have some of the nicest shots of birds I’ve seen. I never seem to have a camera ready when I want it. We have a interesting little mostly black bird close by our office area window who is probably making or tending a nest because we see it often. I don’t want to venture in that area because it would probably draw our kitties attention. Not sure what it is tho. Have a nice holiday weekend.

Thanks! I had the camera with me because I was taking photos of the youngsters with the zoom lens. I was sitting on the lawn watching them and he conveniently flew into the right position. You are correct not to get too close to the nest. Human scent will draw predators – like cats, squirrels or chipmunks to name a few.
