Mailbox Monday ~ May 5th

SpringBirdsFenceMailbox-smlWelcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.

Here’s what arrived in my mailbox last week:

New Arrivals

That Night by Chevy Stevens from St. Martins Press.
As a teenager, Toni Murphy had a life full of typical adolescent complications: a boyfriend she adored, a younger sister she couldn’t relate to, a strained relationship with her parents, and classmates who seemed hell-bent on making her life miserable. Things weren’t easy, but Toni could never have predicted how horrific they would become until her younger sister was brutally murdered one summer night.

The Painter by Peter Heller from Random House Audio.
Peter Heller, the celebrated author of the breakout best seller The Dog Stars, returns with an achingly beautiful, wildly suspenseful second novel about an artist trying to outrun his past.

    Hi Leslie,

Wow! ‘The Painter’ is certainly something completely different from this author. I wasn’t too sure about it at first glance, however the more I read and re-read the synopsis, the more compelled I became to read this one for myself. I do hope that this story lives up to its expectations and I look forward to reading your thoughts about it.

    Have a good week,
