Wordless Wednesday: Looking For Spring

American Robin

Almost wordless: Yes, Ms. Robin, I’m tired of winter too. Some of the paths and most of the prairie are still covered with crusty ice and snow.

The birds must be eagerly waiting for it to get over.
    Great pic.

That makes me feel bad for all the animals who’ve had to live through this winter. Thankfully there’s no snow here.

This has been a tough year for the animals. The number of birds at the feeders is way down.

Yes, spring-like here too. I went for a walk to the park and that’s where I saw the Robin in today’s photo.

    Spectacular photo Leslie,
Beautifully captured. Our robins are very much smaller than yours.
There’s lots of signs here that spring is coming just hang on in there.

The European Robin is a different species. Our robins are actually thrushes.

After yesterday’s snow storm, the fields are covered with even more snow. I wonder what the robins are finding to eat these days.

They were poking around on the ground under my feeders. They don’t eat seed so perhaps there were some insects or larva. Last year they were pulling up worms by the end of March.

I’m not sure what they are doing on the ground. There are still berries and crabapples on the shrubs and trees and I see them eating those.
