Literary Giveaway Blog Hop
Welcome!
The Literary Blog Hop is hosted by Judith at Leeswame’s Blog.
The hop will run from October 27th – 31st. Over 50 blogs will be participating and each will be offering a book or bookish items of a literary nature. There is a list of participants below.
New visitors, feel free to take a look around. I’m an eclectic reader who enjoys a wide range of subjects and am especially fond of audiobooks. If you haven’t tried an audiobook, I’m offering an opportunity to win an audio CD.
My Giveaway
An Audio CD of This is How You Lose Her by Junot Díaz. For my review and more information about the book, click HERE.
This is How You Lose Her
by Junot Díaz
This is a short story collection read by the author and is a National Book Award Finalist.
It’s an emotional collection of stories told through the eyes of Yunior, a young Dominican who has recently moved to the United States. The stories revolve around the various women in his life: lovers, friends, family.
If you enjoy authenticity, immersion into a gritty subculture and don’t mind a little rough language, I would recommend the experience.
How To Enter
- The giveaway is open internationally to anyone 18 years of age or older with a valid address to which the Post Office will deliver. You do not have to be a follower, although new followers are always appreciated.
- Leave a comment as your entry. Are you an audio fan or new to the experience? I’m curious.
- The deadline for entry is midnight October 31st, Eastern time. I will draw one random winner who will be contacted by email and will have 48 hours to respond with a mailing address.

Hi! I’ve listened to one audiobook ever, but that book (Bossypants by Tina Fey) experience definitely converted me to audiobooks! I’ve also heard wonderful things about this book, and would love to win the audio!
Thanks for the giveaway

Only heard an audiobook once and I liked it. I have to like the narrator’s voice I’m afraid so I hope I like this one! Thank you for the international giveaway 🙂

The author is also the narrator. Sometimes that doesn’t work out too well but in this case it added authenticity to the main character.

Thanks for joining the giveaway blog hop again, Leslie. I think you’ve probably taken part in all of them!
I’ll opt out of this one. I heard good things about the book, but both audio and stories are not really my thing. It makes more sense to give a more discerning winner the chance to enjoy this audiobook. 🙂

I would try and convince you that short stories work well in audio… but yeah, I know! 🙂

I am a new convert to that audiobook, but I am in love. I’m getting through about one audiobook a week right now. It makes chores around the house and driving much more enjoyable. Thanks for the chance to win.

Audio fan, for sure. I started when I had a two hour commute to work, now I listen while I have my hands full with the two kids. Please count me in, I would love a copy!

Oooh, I’ve heard excellent things about this book! It would also be a great incentive to finally read the first one, which is still sitting on my shelves unloved… I used to enjoy audiobooks as a child, and would lie colouring or drawing for hours listening to things like The Secret Garden on tape, but I’ve never tried them as an adult. I have no idea why! Thanks for the opportunity to remedy that at last… 😀

I have trouble with audio because I can easily get distracted, unfortunately. I’m going to opt out of this one, but I’ll probably look into getting the book version at some point.
Cheers!

I`ve tried some audio books (2 or 3) and I actually enjoyed them + since I`m not a native English speaker it automatically helps to develop the feel for the language.
Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

I’ve had a couple of books that came with tapes as part of the package. It was interesting but I’ve never listened to an entire book. It should be fun.

Hi! This is great giveaway – I’ve heard such good things about Junot Diaz but haven’t managed to read/listen to any of it yet. I used to listen to audio cassettes when I was a kid, I got out of the habit of if but still occasionally listen to podcasts – I really love The New Yorker’s podcasts especially as they’re read and discussed by another author. Please enter me into your competition – my email’s jeniflumper at hotmail dot com. Thank you!
