Wordless Wednesday: Keeping Cool

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Almost wordless: I added a small bird bath in the garden for the little birds and the robins are always in it.

The poor things were panting from the heat yesterday, they looked so thirsty I kept adding cold water.

They’re both wonderful, but I really love the shot of the bird in the birdbath!

He’s fun to watch… he barely fits in there and then flaps his wings and splashes all the water out.

Lovely bird bath! The little bird looks like he knows he is king of the world.

I’m off to Paris! Here’s my Wordless Wednesday. Please stop by and say bonjour!

The birds are fun to watch. I had a dozen young sparrows in the larger bath all at the same time pushing and poking each like little kids in the pool.

He empties that little bath out several times a day. They are lucky I’m home this summer to keep filling it up with cool water!

Adorable. We had a bunch of wrens taking turns in ours the last few days –they can be a bit mean(:

Wrens are very territorial. I have nesting wrens and if the sparrows linger too long on the fence near the nestbox, daddy wren comes by and shoos them away.
