Wordless Wednesday: Purple Cress

Purple Cress

Almost Wordless: Seen on a walk in Lincoln Marsh. This wildflower was so pretty it was begging for a photograph.

    Hi Leslie,

This isn’t a flower that we see over here in the UK, however the closest flowers that we have to it, which are also coming into bloom in a couple of weeks are ‘Bluebells’.

They are a glorious violet/blue colour and form fantastic carpets of colour as ground cover, lasting for a few weeks.

Your post reminds me that this fantastic spectacle is not too far away and hopefully some nice Spring weather to accompany it!!

    Nice shot,

    Yvonne

I’m pretty sure that flower is native to the US. Your bluebells have a beautiful color. I look forward to some photos of them.

A wildflower? Why don’t we cultivate this, I wonder? Lovely!

I’m no wildflower expert, but it may have something to do with habitat. It’s found in woodlands in moist shady areas under the deciduous trees. It looked like ground cover and I agree, very pretty.
