Wordless Wednesday: Apple Tree Buds
Almost Wordless: This is the apple tree in my back yard, the one the blog is named for. We are having the warmest spring in Chicago’s history. The tree is budding about 2 weeks early and at an exponential rate.

More Wordless Wednesday.

Hi Leslie,
It is pretty much the same story, here in the South of the UK. Many areas have already been declared drought zones and there are already hosepipe bans in most Southern counties.
Unfortunately this is not a great time of year for me, because whilst your tree buds and subsequent blossom look fantastic, I have an allergy to them and hayfever symptoms have already kicked in. Luckily for me, grass pollen doesn’t affect me, so once everything is out in full flower and that ‘sticky bud’ stage has passed, I should be good again.
I can’t believe all that growth in just 2 days though, what a topsy turvy world we are living in right now!

All the trees burst out in buds the past few days and the pollen count is extremely high. My eyes have been itching for a week now.

I miss my grandfather’s apple tree…I used to climb it when I was a kid.

Our crab apple is budding too. Signs of spring (albeit a bit early). Lovely shots.

It’s downright hot here. I’m enjoying the signs of spring, but it’s too hot too early.

How pretty! I do so love spring. I gues next week this weekend the temperatures are supposed to go down some, more like a normal spring.
