I think we have poison oak here too. I avoid getting too close any vines with leaves of three.

I’m sensitive to many plants. I stayed far away and took that photo with my zoom lens.

Who would have thought poison ivy could be described as “lovely”, yet that photo of it is…LOL

At our previous home, I managed to get poison ivy every summer for 10 years. ugh

Oh, how awful. I’ve managed to avoid it. One time I thought I brushed against some and raced home to rinse off with cool water and alcohol. I was fine so either I caught it in time or it was a false alarm.

It is. This was the prettiest poison ivy I’ve ever seen.

This photo gives me chills, lol. I had a terrible case of poison ivy as a kid and am still sort of paranoid about it when I go out in places where it might be.

It seems to be everywhere this year, maybe the hot summer or all the rain, I don’t know. I wear long pants when I hike because I like to go off the trails.

Pretty! I have never had a reaction to poison ivy, so I either have never stumbled upon it or I am not allergic. It is pretty abundant where I live. I had some in my front yard a few years ago.

Not everyone is allergic to it. You may be one of the lucky ones.

Can you believe I had no idea that’s what poison ivy looks like?

I’m not always sure when I see it so I avoid vines with “leaves of three”. But this vine is a beautiful, healthy specimen and was climbing at eye level.

It is pretty, isn’t it? My husband can get poison ivy just by looking at it, I swear.

This vine looked so healthy he might have been able to do that!

Yikes! I’m always telling my boyfriend to point anything poisonous out to me on our walks . . . I’m such a city girl that I have no clue what I should avoid! (So, you know — I just avoid touching anything.)

That’s an excellent idea, just avoid it. I’m not always sure either but several others agreed that this was indeed poison ivy.

This reminds me of the time my grandmother, mother and I went out deep in the woods looking for a couple of old, abandoned cemeteries. It seemed as though my grandmother told me to be careful not to get into poison ivy every five minutes.

Guess who got in the poison ivy?

    You guessed it. My grandmother!

Wow! It’s beautiful. I know all of the sayings and have heard all the descriptions, but I still can’t identify it when I see it. I’ve only had poisin ivy once and don’t really want it again. Maybe this shot will help me keep away from it. Thanks!
