I’ve only seen the purple ones…very pretty.

The yellow ones are a native prairie plant and they grow wild in the restored wetlands/prairie where I go for walks. They’re all over Illinois and probably most of the Midwest.

These flowers and my Monarch butterfly that I posted Saturday are from a local nature park. It’s a hidden gem of about 20 acres that has been restored and maintained, and invasive plant species are removed. It’s a few blocks from my house and is surrounded by townhomes, a school and a few residences. The entrance looks like a driveway; you almost need to know it’s there. One of my favorite spots.
