Wordless Wednesday: Yellow Warbler

Almost wordless.

This little cutie stopped by my feeder last night and ate for about 10 minutes. I’m pretty sure this is a female Yellow Warbler. She was enjoying the suet and got it all over her face.

Aww! so sweet. I may have been listening to a warbler yesterday – so much more melodic than the usual robins and finches around here.

Great shot! It’s so pretty and I love that it still has a bit of suet on its beak.

This shot is fantastic. Is it okay to ask what kind of a lens you used?

The lens is a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS on a Canon Rebel XSi camera. It’s a lightweight zoom lens that I can easily carry around and it didn’t cost a fortune.

Thanks, Leslie. The picture is so detailed that I was wondering if you had a macro lens set up close to the feeder with a tripod!

Nope, I just kept slowly walking closer and closer to the bird and kept shooting frames.

She didn’t want to leave the food and let me get pretty close, about 15 or 20 feet away. She didn’t fly off until the neighbor opened the garage door and startled her.

such a little fatty! super cute. i don’t like living with birds (especially birds that talk. they drive me batty) but i sure do appreciate them in nature.
