Saturday Snapshot: Garden Show
Last week I went to the Chicago Flower and Garden Show to get some ideas for new landscaping and because I wanted to spend some time around flowers and greenery after a way too long winter.
One of the most colorful displays was a selection of Azelea.
My favorite exhibit was on sustainable landscaping. It featured using native plants and shrubs, rain barrels and even had a chicken coop. One of these days I’d like to have my own chickens and fresh eggs.

Some friends of ours have chickens — and they say it’s wonderful to have not just the eggs, but the gentle sounds of the chickens. I loved your azalea shot — what beautiful color!

Those azeleas are beautiful! I’d love to have fresh eggs but I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready to raise my own chickens. 🙂

Beautiful pink color!
We used to have some chickens. One day my daughter was leaning over the fence we kept them in, and while she was looking down at them one jumped up and pecked her on the mouth. We’re always teasing her that her first kiss was with a chicken.

Oh I just love old fashioned azaleas…nothing is as pretty in the spring when they are all in full bloom! And, what a hearty plant! I want chickens too!!!
