Wordless Wednesday: Orchid Surprise

Orchid

Almost wordless: Apparently orchids thrive on neglect. After my mini-orchid finished blooming two years ago, I put it in the garden window and pretty much forgot about it. I never repotted it or fertilized it and only watered it a couple of times a month. I thought it was dead. And then – surprise! Flowers.

That’s the only way plants live in my house: semi-arid conditions and general neglect. Beautiful bloom.

Gorgeous💕My orchids at work were flowering all the time, but since I retired no so much. I just don’t have the same amount of sun at home for them.

Gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to try my hand at orchids. I could do it, too, if they all thrived on neglect.

How lovely! I’ve only had one orchid and it didn’t do too well. I probably over-watered the poor thing. Beautiful photograph!
