Wordless Wednesday: Garden Surprise

Toad in flower pot

Almost wordless: Imagine my surprise when I found a toad instead of a vegetable seedling. This was a few years ago, and ever since I’m cautious when I inspect the plants. No toads this year, only cucumbers.

He looks very happy to be there. Since we live next to a pond, we have lots of frogs, big and small, in our yard. They make quite the racket at night.

That definitely would be a surprise to find — but he looks so happy!

Wow! He has such a great texture. I think it would have freaked me out seeing him in the flower pot, though. Very cool photo!

To think that toad can grow from seeds.
