Saturday Snapshot: Chicago Lakefront

Chicago Lakefront taken from Navy Pier looking south. (Click for sharper image.)

Chicago Lakefront South

No more snowy pictures. I saw a lone robin in my yard yesterday, a sure sign that spring is near. Once robins leave their winter flocks they begin scouting for nesting sites. I like to think that was what he was doing and not just stopping by because I have a heated, ice-free bird bath!

Ah, Chicago’s skyline is every bit as gorgeous as any I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s the water, but I never get tired of seeing it. Thanks for sharing.

    Here’s my SATURDAY SNAPSHOT

    Hi!
It’s beautiful! I’ve never been there but would love to visit. Hoping I see a robin before long, I’m tired of winter. Have a great day!

I wish I was there! Of course, there’s a seagull in the picture!

Yeah, I had to choose the frame that caught the bird, I couldn’t resist.

Great picture, Leslie. I’ve only been to Chicago once, but I really liked it, especially the lakefront. I’m happy to hear about the robin, too. Mine are still in their flocks. We are going to have temps in the mid-30s for the next few days, which is much better than the low to mid-20s. Perhaps spring will eventually come to New England, too. I have some hope left.

I am probably biased, but I think we have one of the most beautiful lakefronts. And the shore is all beaches and parks, no commercial buildings. A little history… we have a court ruling that says the lakefront will remain forever open, clear and free.

Cityscapes are so cool. It’s fun guessing a city by its skyline.

Someday, it will be more than the airport on my stop in Chicago. Very pretty!
