Wordless Wednesday: Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Almost wordless: I’ve seen an increase in Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in my yard the past week, but none were interested in stopping for a photo. I captured this image a few years ago when I came across a flock of hummingbirds migrating south for the winter. It’s one of my favorites and was originally posted in a Weekend Birding feature.

Great catch! I saw a hummingbird in our yard last week but there’s just no way I could have gotten it in time.

This was a migrating flock. Apparently they were too busy eating to care that I was taking photos. Usually they are way too fast for me too.

Beautiful! We don’t get my hummingbirds at our house.

This photo was taken along a nature trail. I get the occasional hummingbird in my yard — they are attracted to the cardinal flower and bee balm — but not as many stop by as I’d like to see. They ignore my feeders!
