Male Eastern Bluebird

Almost wordless: Mr. Bluebird just finished delivering a yummy bug to the nestlings. Photo taken at Cantigny Golf.

Other than an occasional blue jay, I’ve never notice blue birds here. Great shot.

They’re in your area but probably hiding at the forest edge. You won’t see them in parks or backyards unless someone puts up bluebird houses.

Oh my! What a great capture! We have bluebirds in my area, but none in my yard.

I took this at a golf course near the clubhouse. I’ve never seen a bluebird in my yard either.

How pretty! I do love bluebirds, even though I’ve rarely seen one.

They are very elusive and fussy about where they live. A couple of the places I go for walks have a trail of bluebird nest boxes. Once you know where to find them, they are a little easier to see.

Beautiful and very cool! Love that blue! We were thinking of putting up some bluebird houses, but haven’t gotten around to it. We live in a rural area with lots of trees and farm land close by. However, with our luck, we probably wouldn’t get any birds. (Remember the bat house? Still no bats.) Anyway, it would be awesome to see them up close.

I think you would have a better chance with the bluebirds. I still don’t have bats either and it’s been years. And I’m still seeing bats flying around.

I was trying to get a picture of the bird who was perched in a nearby tree. He had a bug in his beak and was just sitting there watching me. Turns out I was standing next to his home! I took a few steps back and he delivered the food. I was in the right place at the right time to get the closeup.
