Mailbox Monday ~ June 20th

Mailbox Monday was created by The Printed Page. It is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their home last week.

Mailbox Monday is currently on tour, hosted by a different blog each month. This month’s host is Bluestocking at The Bluestocking Guide.

I received two new books this week.

From Random House for review:

Sisterhood Everlasting
by Ann Brasharess

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ann Brashares comes the welcome return of the characters whose friendship became a touchstone for a generation. Now Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget have grown up, starting their lives on their own. And though the jeans they shared are long gone, the sisterhood is everlasting.

As moving and life-changing as an encounter with long-lost best friends, Sisterhood Everlasting is a powerful story about growing up, losing your way, and finding the courage to create a new one.

A win from Trees and Ink sent by Hachette Books:

The Arrivals
by Meg Mitchell Moore

It’s early summer when Ginny and William’s peaceful life in Vermont comes to an abrupt halt. First, their daughter Lillian arrives, with her two children in tow, to escape her crumbling marriage. Next, their son Stephen and his pregnant wife Jane show up for a weekend visit, which extends indefinitely when Jane ends up on bed rest. When their youngest daughter Rachel appears, fleeing her difficult life in New York, Ginny and William find themselves consumed again by the chaos of parenthood – only this time around, their children are facing adult problems.

I’ll be interested to see what you make of Sisterhood Everlasting. Is it YA or adult fiction?

Two very good books. Well, I hope they are good. I’ve heard good things about THE ARRIVALS and I want the Sisterhood book to be good. To be a nice closing book for that series. 🙂

    Enjoy!

Ooh, nice win of The Arrivals. It’s on my TBR list. I’ve only seen the Sisterhood movies. Hope this latest book is a good one.

Books about sisters always make me wish I had one! Probably don’t know what I’m missing, right? 🙂 Happy reading!

I remember when the first sisterhood book came out and my daughter devoured it…she went on to read all the others, and has intentions to see the movie (she’s in college now).

Hope you enjoy both books 🙂

Oops, that should have read “intentions to read this one as well” — she never did see any of the movies.
I think I need to eat lunch, lol…my brain needs food…

Both of these sound good to me, although I haven’t read past the first of the Sisterhood books yet. Enjoy!
