Mailbox Monday ~ May 6th

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.

I think spring has finally sprung! Two days in a row of mild morning temperatures and sunshine. Unfortunately with the late appearance of spring, everything seems to be sending out pollen at the same time. Horrible for allergy sufferers like me who still insist on being outside. Eyedrops and antihistamines can only do so much!

One new arrival last week. A beach read, just in time for summer and a few relaxing afternoons on my deck imagining I’m at a resort!

New Arrivals

Sunset Beach by Mary Kay Andrews from Tandem Literary.

Pull up a lounge chair and have a cocktail at Sunset Beach – it comes with a twist.

Drue Campbell’s life is adrift. Out of a job and down on her luck, life doesn’t seem to be getting any better when her estranged father, Brice Campbell, a flamboyant personal injury attorney, shows up at her mother’s funeral after a twenty-year absence. Worse, he’s remarried – to Drue’s eighth grade frenemy, Wendy, now his office manager. And they’re offering her a job.

After the winter we just came through I’m trying hard not to say anything negative about spring but I hear you about the pollen! I hope you enjoy the MKA book as much as I did. I agree, a good beach read.

The book sounds good – already wonder if Drue will take the job – and more about the reason her mom died –
    Hmmm

Pollen season has peaked here, thankfully, because it was rough this year. It’s not summer without an MKA book!
