Mailbox Monday ~ November 26th

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.

An unwelcome weather event dumped 8 inches of snow on us last night. Yesterday afternoon involved putting away the last remaining yard items that I don’t like to leave out in the winter, and then running to the grocery store so I wouldn’t have to deal with it in the snow and inevitable deep freeze that follows a Midwestern snowstorm.

No new books but I did receive some audiobook downloads.

There are still a few days to enter the Audio Publishers Association (APA) giveaway, a set of eight audiobook downloads.  A Good Audiobook Speaks Volumes runs through the end of November.

New Arrivals

Elevation by Stephen King from Simon & Schuster Audio.

Set in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine. The latest from legendary master storyteller Stephen King, a riveting, extraordinarily eerie, and moving story about a man whose mysterious affliction brings a small town together—a timely, upbeat tale about finding common ground despite deep-rooted differences.

Fear: Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward from Simon & Schuster Audio.

With authoritative reporting honed through eight presidencies from Nixon to Obama, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies.

Fear is sitting in my TBR pile. But I’m not that anxious to read it.

I enjoy Woodward’s perspective and know that he thoroughly researches everything, so it’s a book I feel I should read even though I’m not particularly anxious to dive into it either. That’s why I have it in audio… so I can listen while I do household stuff.

Carl read Fear in print and said it’s very aptly named.

Wow on the 8 inches of snow – so early for that.

    I enjoy audio books.

ENJOY your downloads, and have a great week.

Yes, way too early for the snowy mess. I’m hoping it all goes away this weekend. We are supposed to have rain. Of course then it will freeze. Can’t win in this part of the county in the winter months!

I’d have trouble dealing with 8 inches of snow. We have a freeze warning tonight. My google search indicates it won’t bother our chickens.
    Happy Reading!

My Florida friends are all freaking out about the “cold”, which is just a sweater day here in Chicago. 🙂

I just picked up King’s latest. Snow is not something I want to see again, since we had pre-Thanksgiving snow, but I think I prefer it now to the rain that’s been coming and coming….

I’m hoping for rain this weekend so it will wash away the remains of the snow and the salt. And so I can get those few last yard and garden items packed away. This winter really snuck up on me. Probably because it’s still autumn!
