Mailbox Monday ~ September 24th

After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.
Sadly, summer is officially over. This was a good year for the wildflower garden; not so good for the veggies. Inconsistent weather and too many critters contributed to a poor yield. Ah, but there is always the farmer’s market!
New Arrivals
Street Freaks by Terry Brooks from Grim Oak Press.
It begins with a dire call—right before his father disappears and his skyscraper home’s doors explode inward. It is the kind of thrilling futuristic story only New York Times bestselling author Terry Brooks can tell.
Bowlaway by Elizabeth McCracken from Harper.
A sweeping and enchanting new novel from the widely beloved, award-winning author Elizabeth McCracken about three generations of an unconventional New England family who own and operate a candlepin bowling alley

Thank goodness for farmers’ markets! I’m happy with our change in weather but I’m sure we’ll have a few warm days here and there. I hope you enjoy your new books. Bowlaway caught my eye.

I’m not a big fantasy fan. But I really enjoyed The Magic Kingdom of Landover series by Brooks. That’s all I’ve read from him.
