Mailbox Monday ~ November 27th
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.
After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.
This was not a good week for reading – too many distractions. Even with audiobooks I didn’t finish anything. And with several days away from a book, I tend to forget and need to go back a little and re-read. So much for multitasking!
A couple of new books arrived last week. I’m looking forward to getting some new ideas from the In Style book. In addition to entertaining ideas it has lots of recipes too.
New Arrivals
The Wife by Alafair Burke from Harper.
This much-anticipated follow-up to Burke’s Edgar-nominated The Ex asks how far a wife will go to protect the man she loves: Will she stand by his side, even if he drags her down with him?
InStyle Parties: The Complete Guide to Easy, Elegant Entertaining All Year Round by The Editors of InStyle from AmazonVine.
The editors of InStyle offer their expert advice on hosting any type of celebration. Whether a baby shower, dinner gathering, or holiday affair.

I read Burke’s If You Were Here back in 2013. I liked it. I gave it a 3/4. But it’s the only book of hers that I have read.

Two diverse but interesting sounding books. The blurb on The Wife raises a thought provoking question. I hope you enjoy your week and Happy Reading!

It wasn’t a very good week for me to read, either. Lots going on with Thankagiving feasts, putting up Christmas and teaching. But, soon the Winter days should lend themselves to cozy quiet nights! I like your In Style party magazine.
