Wordless Wednesday: Mister Bluebird

Bluebird

Almost wordless: The Bluebirds are already claiming territory for nesting season. This little guy was perched near one of the nestboxes at Cantigny Golf Course.

Such a pretty fellow. We’ve managed to attract a bluebird pair to a birdhouse and are watching them get busy at building their first springtime nest. How exciting!
Thanks for sharing here, and I hope you’ll also share at this week’s Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday) linkup at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/03/springtime-at-last.html

Beautiful! I saw my first bluebirds ever last spring at a local Audubon center. Guess it’s time to go back and see what birds are there. The purple finches just arrived last week.

My God, how beautiful. Only after I got a place in Florida did I start paying attention to birds–in part because so many of them there are too big to ignore. After I sold the Florida place, my interest in birds came back with me to Michigan. It’s part of my day now, putting out seed, and watching my “charges” show up–sparrows of several kinds, juncos (I love the way they do the cha cha), mourning doves, jays, and of course cardinals. Because of his amazing getup, my wife says the male is a “lady’s man,” so she calls him Courvoisier (remember the character on SNL?)

So sharp and crisp! What a beautiful bird! Did you have to use a powerful tele lens to take this one?
