Wordless Wednesday: Shaggy Ink Cap Mushrooms

Shaggy Inkcap Mushrooms

Almost wordless: Shaggy Ink Caps were popping out from beneath what I believe is a patch of wild blackberry shoots in the park where I watch birds. These are edible mushrooms, but I forage only with my camera!

Very cool — I’ve eaten them before (in a restaurant). I don’t pick mushrooms either.

    They’re really beautiful.
I love looking at the variety of mushrooms but can’t identify them by name.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen these before. The only wild mushrooms we pick and eat are morels.

great pictures, but I think I’d be a little nervous of making a mushroom stew with them.

A new one for me, too. Very pretty, and probably deadly.

No, actually they’re edible when young, before they get inky. But I only forage with my camera!
