Welcome to Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia of To Be Continued, a place where readers share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.
After several years of being on tour with different blogs as the monthly host, the Mailbox Monday Blog is now the permanent home for the meme.
It feels like May just arrived and now June is here. I am so ready for warm weather and long sunny days.
I received a couple of books in the mail and some audiobook downloads last week. I read nine books last month, which is pretty good considering all my outdoor and garden projects, plus last week I spent a good chunk of time participating in Armchair BEA. I would rather have gone to the real BEA, but that will have to wait a couple more years until it comes to Chicago.

Summer House With Swimming Pool is another book from Herman Koch that makes for uncomfortable reading. He has a knack of getting under the skin of his readers.

herman Koch is a new to me author, however I have added ‘Summer House with Swimming Pool’ to my own list, as it sounds so disturbing and intriguing. Even the cover kind of gets to me, if that doesn’t sound too silly.

No it sounds just about right to me! I do hope you enjoy it, although once you’ve read it you may realise that ‘enjoy’ is possibly the wrong word. It is definitely disturbing because I found it made me question myself and my beliefs, which is quite disconcerting

Herman Koch is a new to me author, although he appears to be very popular with some of my fellow commenters. I am definitely intrigued enough to be adding ‘Summer House with Swimming Pool’ to my TBR, especially as my own MM this week, features a medical novel, although nothing as gruesome as the Koch story, I am sure!

I’ve spent time in the garden as well. Today I may transplant small milkweed plants (grown from seed) into my monarch garden. Happy to see a chrysalis already, too! 🙂

That’s about average for me for one month. What was different in May was that I listened to more books than I read. Good luck with the monarch garden. I was really pleased to see that my milkweed plants came back this year even after our awful winter. Maybe I will create a dedicated garden area for the monarchs next year – the milkweed is mixed in with other prairie plants.

That William Shakespeare Star Wars book looks hilarious! We saw the first one at B&N over the weekend, I made my husband read a few lines outloud, he was laughing so hard people were looking at us funny. Twas adorkable.

They are hilarious! I read the first two already plus I have The Empire Striketh Back in audio. Usually audiobooks with sound effects are just ehhhh, but this one works – light sabers buzzing, R2D2 whistling, Chewbacca roaring and Darth Vader’s heavy breathing are too much fun.

Summer House With Swimming Pool looks very interesting and different.
The Harry Quebert book is popping up everywhere. I picked up a copy at the BEA. I am guessing it is good.
