Me too! I miss walking outside. And because of the ice and a bad knee I haven’t gone walking on the trails in three weeks.

As someone who is immune to the attractive nature of nature (i.e. flora and fauna), I have to say that I’m blown away by this butterfly. I have never seen anything like it.

Whoops. It appears that I have shown my indoor nature. I thought it was real. No wonder it looked so incredible!

Oh no! Butterflies can’t tolerate the cold. This one is glass and because my yard faces the south, the small amount of sun we have made it light up. Here’s a real butterfly. It was on a flower basket not too far from the glass one.

Hi Leslie,
I always thought that butterflies couldn’t tolerate the cold, however it was only last week that on my to work, I stopped by the local coffee shop at about 8am and fluttering about inside the shop was a beautiful and very large red and black butterfly. As you can imagine, it was causing quite a stir with staff and customers alike, but to a man, none of us had the sense to photograph and dateline it!
Your glass butterfly is much more practical at this time of year and what a beautiful colour.

Butterflies are cold-blooded creatures and need warm air to fly. That’s amazing that you saw one last week. Hopefully it stayed inside the coffee shop! And too bad about no photo – I’d have loved to see it.

It’s pretty for sure but enough with the cold weather – ready for spring here.
