Wordless Wednesday: Virginia Creeper
Almost wordless: Most of the vegetation was still green last week but this vine was brilliant red in the morning sun, still wet with dew.

I hate Virgina creeper — as in it’s impossible to destroy. But I admit its fall colors are beautiful.

This one was in the forested area of the park but I know what you mean. Like English Ivy it just keeps coming back no matter how often I pull it out along the fence.

Beautiful color! I have Virginia creeper in some places along my fence, and boy, do I have to keep pulling it back; it wants to overtake everything, But I do like it in controlled amounts and I love how it turns such gorgeous colors in the autumn.

Yes, it does make a nice splash of color against the green, and it’s one of the first to turn red in the Chicago area. Sumac will be the next brilliant color; it’s just beginning to turn.

That looks like Virginia Tech’s maroon – now you need a little orange to go with it.
