Ann Patchett was on The Colbert Report Monday night and discussed the importance of brick-and-mortar bookstores and explains what prompted her to open one in Nashville.

I saw the episode and absolutely loved it! She was hilarious and really held her own with an expert in comedy; I’d be surprised if he didn’t head to Parnassus Books to sign his copies next time around!

I watched this clip online yesterday and loved it. I just adore Ann Patchett, and I have even more respect for her now that I know she can hang with Colbert.
