Mailbox Monday ~ March 7th

Mailbox Monday was created by The Printed Page. It is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their home last week.

Mailbox Monday is currently on tour, hosted by a different blog each month. This month’s host is Laura @ I’m Booking It.

Last week I received:

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. This was a win from Random House Reader’s Circle.

Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter and SweetIn the opening pages of Jamie Ford’s stunning debut novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry Lee comes upon a crowd gathered outside the Panama Hotel, once the gateway to Seattle’s Japantown. It has been boarded up for decades, but now the new owner has made an incredible discovery: the belongings of Japanese families, left when they were rounded up and sent to internment camps during World War II.

Set during one of the most conflicted and volatile times in American history, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is an extraordinary story of commitment and enduring hope. In Henry and Keiko, Jamie Ford has created an unforgettable duo whose story teaches us of the power of forgiveness and the human heart.

This one is on my wish list…it resonates with me because of the times in which it is set. Thanks for sharing…and thanks for visiting my blog.

It’s on my TBR list. I actually bought it a few months ago but one of my kids “borrowed” it and I haven’t seen it since.

I have this on my shelf, and I’ve heard such good things about it! Hopefully I’ll pick it up some time– so many books to read :-).

    Enjoy your reading!
